A Serious Post for ALL AUTHORS!

This past weekend, my sister wanted to update her book cover.  I helped her out and even uploaded the things to her pages for her--Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.

When she went to see the updates, she clicked on the sample for Barnes & Noble.  But it wasn't only a sample--it was the ENTIRE BOOK!  Free for anyone wanting to sample it!  She contacted B&N and they said it was their fault, to call back on Monday and have it fixed.

She's had that book for sale for a few years now, and neither of us thought to look through the sample.  Because this is a computer age and anything can happen, please look through your sample and see if it's the right length.  It should be around 20% of the book or less, depending on the site.  So if' you have a 100 page book, that's like 20 pages.

Pass this on to your friends, too.  I'd give you the name of the book, but she can't afford to lose more sales.

I think I've made my decision

...and the verdict is: elegant and sweet.  LOL!

I'm thinking some sort of good coffee (my husband LOVES coffee), chocolate covered strawberries, and some sort of movie he likes.  Too mainstream?

I'm looking into Edible Arrangements (http://www.ediblearrangements.com/) to see what I can afford.  LOL!

But thank you to everyone who helped me. :)  Now I'm off to find a good arrangement or box.  YUM!

Usual Valentine's Day Gifts

I've done a search on strange and funny Valentine's Day gifts, so now, I want to see what's considered 'normal.'  My box of chocolate for my husband is on the list, so he'll probably expect it.  But do I want to do that again?

Here's a list of normal presents, which I probably want to avoid:

So now that I've looked at some different ideas, what should I get my husband?  Any thoughts?  I have about three weeks or so to get something.

Help?

New Posting on Let's Write!--How to Write a Fiction Novel

I've posted something new on Let's Write!  It's titled, 'How to Write a Fiction Novel.'  Now, I know some of you are saying, 'it's so short,' but be advised, it's just the basics.

Check it out at http://sweettalebooks.com/articles/howtowrite.html.

Now off to figure out more about this Valentine's Day stuff.  LOL!

Have a super week!

Funny Valentine's Day Presents

I'm still on my quest to get my husband something cool for Valentine's Day.  Today, I'm thinking maybe something funny.  So I did a search and came up with the following sites, below.

---------------------------------------

Nothing says 'romance' like a sword umbrella!  Some of these are pretty amusing:  http://www.realsimple.com/holidays-entertaining/gifts/funny-valentines-day-gifts-00100000075115/index.html

And this is looking like it might be a winner...for someone, somewhere.  LOL!  http://www.gardenfun.com/valentine-geek-gifts.html?gclid=CI_fxdbF7LsCFeg-Mgod4XEASA.  Personally, I'd love to get the solar flowers.  They last longer than roses in a vase.

I'm really upset that the Magic Rainbow Head Massager is out of stock:  http://www.baronbob.com/funnyvalentinegift.htm.  Yeah.  That's really a thing.

And here's something to enjoy while thinking of funny valentines:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjuaZDdqmCw

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.

Time to Start Planning Valentine's Day

At our house, we don't do a lot for Valentine's Day. My husband usually send the obligatory dozen roses (when I love carnations better than roses), and I get him a card and a box of candy from a local chocolate business. We watch TV that night and go to bed early. Nothing spells boring more than that.

Thus, I need to start planning our Valentine's Day celebration early this year and surprise him. And yes, this year, I have more than month to do it, because I'm working on time management.

He'll probably never know I'm working on this, because he doesn't deal well with social media or read blogs. For example, a few months ago, he had 28 friend requests on Facebook. He didn't care and didn't friend any of them back. I'm sure he has more now, but it doesn't bother him. LOL!

To begin, I wanted to rule out the weird things. So I did a search on 'valentine's day strange gifts' and came up with these things:

Okay. I have to admit that a tooth in a ring, a voodoo curse, brief jerky, and a bell for sex are a little out there, but nothing says 'I love you' like the Pizza Hut Proposal. Now there's romance for you.

I need to do more research on this topic. Next up, fun Valentine's Day gifts.
